Ato turns activities they already love into meaningful engagement experiences by encouraging conversation, curiosity, and participation. No screens. Just natural voice interaction designed for companionship and care.
When will my Ato ship?
Our plan is to ship in clear production waves after the campaign ends:
- First 100 devices within ~1 month
- Next 200 devices within ~2 months
- Remaining units (up to 500) within ~3 months
If demand exceeds this volume, timelines may extend slightly while we scale manufacturing with the right partners. We’re designing and prototyping everything with manufacturability in mind to ensure reliable, as-fast-as-possible delivery.
We’ve already been operating an early version of Ato, shipping prototypes globally and learning directly from real families. Those learnings are built into this production model.

What do I need to use Ato?
Ato only needs a Wi-Fi connection. A smartphone is not required for Ato to work. It is a fully standalone device.
A phone is only used once for setup, and is recommended for family members or caregivers who want to send messages, manage settings, and receive updates.
After setup, the older adult never needs a phone, app, or technical interaction.
Does Ato have a battery?
No. Ato is designed to be a permanent, always-available companion and must remain plugged into a wall outlet.
This ensures stable performance, better sound quality, and continuous availability for conversations, routines, and emergency use, without the risk of the device being unavailable due to a dead battery.
Does Ato require a subscription?
Ato doesn’t require a subscription, but we offer a membership to unlock the device’s full potential as a proactive companion. Our free plan ensures the essentials like messaging, reminders, and radio, always available so you stay connected.
The $29/month Membership enables the unlimited, proactive conversations designed for cognitive stimulation that make Ato truly unique, along with exclusive wellness features.

Is Ato good for people with vision or hearing loss?
Yes. Ato is fully voice-first, making it ideal for blind or low-vision users.
It has been tested with users with hearing loss. Volume can be adjusted by voice, its physical control, or from the family app. We are adding support for external audio connectors to further improve accessibility for hearing-impaired users.
How can Ato help you stay connected with your family?
Ato does not automatically detect falls. However, if a user needs to reach out, they can say phrases like ‘Hey Ato, send a message to my son’ or ‘Ato, I need to talk to someone.’ Ato will attempt to notify selected family members and stay present, offering conversation and companionship. Please note that notifications are subject to connectivity and Ato is not a substitute for professional emergency services.
How does Ato handle privacy, security, and compliance?
Ato is built on HIPAA-compliant and SOC 2 Type I certified infrastructure, with encrypted communication and secure data handling integrated by design.
